The Embracing Diversity: Celebrating Pride Month convening, organized by Feminist Action Development Ambition (FADA) with support from GIZ and COC Netherlands, brought together LGBTQ+ activists and organizations from Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, and Zambia. The event created a regional platform to share experiences, strengthen solidarity, and advance collective strategies for LGBTQ+ rights.
Through two focused panel discussions, participants examined the human rights landscape, protection challenges, and opportunities for cross-border collaboration. The convening enabled peer learning, strengthened regional networks, and supported the exchange of practical approaches to advocacy and community protection.
The event reinforced the importance of sustained collaboration, inclusive advocacy, and coordinated regional action, contributing to stronger partnerships and a shared commitment to advancing LGBTQ+ rights and resilience across Eastern and Southern Africa.
